SOLON, Ohio – Students in grades one through 12 in the Solon City Schools will start the 2020-21 school year on Aug. 26, one week later than originally scheduled.In an email sent July 13 to families in the district, parents were given two options for their children: an “all-in” model, in which they would attend classes in buildings every scheduled school day, and a virtual model, in which they would learn from home via computer.The start date for kindergarten students also has been moved back one week, to Aug. 28 from Aug. 21.Tammy Strom, the district’s communications director, said all children will be “in school” at the same time, but some will be in school buildings while others learn at home virtually.“It’s all connected; there’s no separate virtual school,” she said.
