Music For Nations did a great series of First Pressings in Europe, and even with shipping costs, you can usually find them at a better price than the Megaforce ones. They sounded terrific. Original Megadeth Albums?
I realize the 1995 isn’t all that great either. Metallica Close. Unfortunately, it sounds just like a lot of other modern remasters that I’ve come to despise since they’re so damn loud. Overall prefer the original album than this version.. I’d like an original cd copy as well, although I’ve read that some on here have had bad experiences when obtaining an Elektra/Asylum copy of this title.
IMO, In mastering process, Compressing maybe was not used that much. The trick with a lot of the Megadeth remasters is that Dave didn't just remaster from the original and leave it alone, but he made significant changes to the overall sound on several of them.
Metallica Ride The Lightning Cd Remaster: 1995 Vs. 2017. There is some more info on RTL here: Best version of Metallica "Ride The Lightning" I'm not sure if all the RTL MFN CDs from various countries are digitally identical, I have the same France MPO pressing as you and posted a comparison with the original Elektra CD in that thread. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. They were so recent and well-produced that the clarity wasn't an issue at all. I'm holding off for the remaster of MOP that's supposedly in the pipeline. What do you think is better? METALLICA will reissue its first two albums, 1983's "Kill 'Em All" and 1984's "Ride The Lightning", on April 15.Both albums have been remastered … Dave lost some of the vocal tracks and had to re-record some of them, and they stick way out. Remasters vs original vinyl I've recently gone back to vinyl and among my first purchases were the Metallica classic era records. I would be sorely tempted to go the full box set even though it's not my favourite album of theirs as it's such an interesting era for the band what with them starting to really blow up but also lose Cliff. If you can find an original that is not warped or heavily scratched, for under $90, then I would say absolutely go for it.Also, you don't have to get an American KEA/RTL. Minimal changes here. Frankly, the production on these two was already amazing, and since they were experiments their unique polish and mix suited the albums really well.
You could honestly go either way.Cryptic Writings and Risk - originals only 100%.
Compare that to, say, Five Magicks. But is it only certain songs (like Take No Prisoners) and why?
Can we make a "guide" for each album one by one?
Remasters vs original vinyl I've recently gone back to vinyl and among my first purchases were the Metallica classic era records. I went for the 2016 Blackened Recordings remasters of Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning instead of the Megaforce originals as all the reviews were good and not only were they much cheaper but they also are on lovely 180g vinyl.I'm interested to know if anyone has listened to both the Megaforce pressings and the new remasters and can tell me how they match up? Kinda looking for all opinions on anything for me and future generations. My opinion is I want the song in the best clearest sound possible, but what made the Metallica remasters special was they did that without changing the songs at all. etc.Not that it's necessarily bad. Remastered features extensive graphical, rendering, and lighting enhancements, updated animations, remastered original sound effects as well as adding new, and offers a number of small improvements while retaining the original core gameplay.
