Story

If Hugh had his way, he'd happily go back to being just another anonymous student.

It's a solid and entertaining story of his life and adversity, and a framing element introduced part way through that explains why so much happens to our protagonist.

That was a good twist.

Performance Williams again uses the second person with an unreliable narrator, this time to even better effect than in the first book.

I'm selfishly driven to write this review so that Williams will produce many more adventures about Quillifer.

I hope he continues the series.
