Two weeks at this pace is equivalent to one trimester (1 credit) of a course. SBS is offering a select number of intensive courses to rising 8-12th grade students using a blended synchronous/asynchronous plan where students do all of the work for asynchronous online courses and then meet with the teacher synchronously over Zoom for daily, one-hour Oxford Tutorials in small groups of 1-4 students. Courses in the Health Sciences are also available. In the tutorial sessions, the teacher provides personalized instruction and feedback and answers to whatever questions the students may have. Students may choose whether they want credit or not upon completion of the course. Students should expect to spend around six hours daily on their coursework, and they should complete all of their assignments in advance of their daily synchronous Tutorials.In addition to taking intensive courses, summer SBS students are welcome to join in on any of the online activities being offered like Bible studies, athletic work outs, college counseling webinars, and student life activities.Prerequisite courses and grades are listed in each course description.
