Third, Stub and Herb’s is turning 70 years old on July 23rd. Their happy hour deals are good (although not as stellar as Sally's) but I do believe their drinks taste better. No joke.

I thought this was the best bar in the area for good food at fair prices and this will be my first choice when I come back to the University of Minnesota.Been xoming here for 40 years. The only problem that I have is how crowded it gets, but that should be expected before a sporting event, and in dinkytown.We were originally going to Sally's, but there were a ton of graduation ceremonies at the university on the day we went, and there was a three hour wait for a table. August 13 at But even worse (or at least more offensive) was that they added an extra $1.00 charge to upgrade to fries because of an event going on (we were there for the Lynx Game up the street. We were the second table seated and after 15 minutes still had nobody stop to serve us. If I made a mistake before it made to someone's plate, I threw it OUT. Rather than pre-game with other OSU fans, we like to head to local places, good crowds, cheap drinks. We felt entirely at home sitting at the bar.

We may have had bad timing with our visit too, because our group only ordered a side of fries and a side of tots (along with drinks), and it took almost 45 minutes for us to get our food. The owner of Stub & Herbs plans to open a new Mexican concept in the old Campus Pizza space. This is a nice location close to the university and stadium. Overall a good experience with a nice waitress and open seating to accommodate.While I was on vacation up North I decided to swing by this place for a couple drinks and some food.
Anyways, I highly do not recommend, unless of course you enjoy reading the menu in the dark, cheeseless cheese curds, rude service, cold fries, and waiting an eternity to get your food.
Lift Bridge Farm Girls were enjoyable also. Disappointed I suggested the group to go here (shoulda just got hibachi). Homemade chili was also good! Nice enough stop on a busy Friday afternoon, I would imagine it's impossible to get into after any sporting event.Went into Stub and Herbs after a game. I visited this restaurant twice while in town and both days I regretted my decision of needing the use the facilities. 2 check-ins. Or hang out with friends.I've grown to crave a burger from this place.
There's a great beer selection, and the prices for 22oz glasses are fantastic (something like 6-8 bucks max).
I got my beer and burger, so good enough for me. The waitress was also very attentive.Loved the Smokestack burger.
