I bought this to take care of some exceptionally large weeds and some trail-clearing, and on its first trip outdoors my wife made a remark about how it looks like a crazy weapon. I was expecting it to be one hand operation, and probably should have looked at the pictures better, because this thing is a two handed sword. I thought I missed because I felt no resistance and the weed was still there. This is the most worthless , ineffective blade in my life; and, I'm 70 years old. For larger branches, say to an inch the axe part will work but I wouldn't use this as an axe as a matter of safety; this is a machete and it cuts like a blade not like a real axe wedge.

I've used things like this in the past and did try to push it to its limits, fully expecting the thing to snap in half, fly off, and clip my jugular. I also did not find it performed very well.
