Pico Turquino. It is located in the southeast part of the island, in the Sierra Maestra mountain range in the municipality of Guamá, Santiago de Cuba Province. For those that chose not to summit, the day is spent hiking near El Salton with our local guide. This is an ideal way to meet Cubans in a relaxed way and learn about their daily lives.

The hike is a challenging one that takes two to three days and starts in Alto de Naranjo, near La Plata, and finishes at Las Cuevas, on the Caribbean coast.

Located in southeastern Cuba, Pico Turquino is within the Sierra Maestra mountain range, the birthplace of Cuba’s revolution.

We continue south into the mountains and on to the small village of Santo Domingo. Pico Real del Turquino (1974 m) is the highest summit above sea level in Cuba.

Make sure to bring sturdy boots for this tour, as you'll be hiking through some rugged, but very rewarding terrain.
