There is something uniquely compelling about those that are not afraid to show the ugly side of life and the human experience. I know that the world is not a happy and cheerful place where the good guy always wins. Fuminori and Koji begin fighting but while Koji has the upper hand, Saya ambushes him from behind. There’s rape, blood, madness and tentacles, but even if those put you off I think the storytelling is strong enough to look past them to the deeper content. There are 3 endings – one comes about halfway through and is probably the ‘happiest’ of the bunch. It is unclear whether or not this ability kills Saya after she completes this process as the visual novel leaves on a cliff hanger after she blooms. Poor Yoh.The meat-o-licious backgrounds were great! But the game was released in 2003 and UI's nowadays are naturally better so no points taken off for that. I appreciate the feedback. This would normally feel like an abrupt shift in character but considering that this occurs after the choice I just mentioned, it is almost as if the game is saying that YOU choose this. If I were in her place, seeing what could be considered much too young-looking of a character being in a sex scene, and without any context, I would at least raise an eyebrow. I think the biggest reason why I am fixated on these stories is largely due to my own depression over the years. However, severe damage such as having a large part of her body destroyed can kill her, but this required liquid nitrogen to freeze that part of her body first. Saya no Uta on the other hand is just depressing. From the start, it’s hard not to sympathize with him.The trick is that even as his and Saya’s actions move the pair straight into villain territory, you still sympathize with them. I take similar interest in these bleak and macabre games as well, and hentai games often make interesting subjects for reviews whether they are good or bad.I decided to revise the section of this piece pertaining to Saya’s design to be more consistent with my current thoughts on the issue of lolicon/shotacon. On top of that, the voices of his friends are nearly screeches that, while somewhat understandable, are almost painful to listen to.Finally, as if to heighten the grotesqueness of Fuminori’s distorted perceptions, we often see how normal the world actually looks and sounds when the game follows the story’s other characters. Saya no Uta explores Saya’s origins and her impact on Fuminori and the world as a whole, taking us on a trip to some very dark places indeed. Review: Saya no Uta — The Song of Saya By Bradly Halestorm on July 13, 2013 In a word, Saya no Uta — The Song of Saya is insane. The other two come at the actual ‘end’ of the game, and both take the plot to very different conclusions. The art is very well drawn, the music is beautiful, the voice acting is on point, and the game will last about maybe three to five hours. He does so, but did not realize it was Yoh. Saya was brought into this world via the experiments of Dr. Like a father, Dr. Ogai began care for Saya deeply and in his journal he mysteriously wished in anguish that if only someone could find his daughter beautiful and give her affection as Saya began wanting deeply love and acceptance. Yes Saya does appear very childlike and is featured in sex scenes. Saya is both sweet and menacing; innocent and wise; caring and sadistic. She is voiced by Naoko Takano (credited as Midori Kawamura). Their “echo chambers” if you will.Sakisaka Fuminori has his sight restored but is only able to view his surroundings as gory flesh blobs and other human beings as hideous monsters. She’s a great character, but I have to say I wasn’t as hooked by her as some other fans – personally, I don’t find the idea of a monster taking the form of a little girl all that interesting or shocking.

Thus you feel less like a character in the game and more like the writer of the story, able to choose in what direction the story will go.And as I played, I never felt that, like in many recent torture-porn movies, it was being fucked-up just for the sake of being “fucked up.” The gradual descent of Fuminori and his relationship with Saya were always at the forefront of the story. As more and more publications are dialing down their Japan coverage, Kotaku had this crazy idea:…I think it was about one-third to one-half of the way through this review that I started to wonder, "am I reading an anime review or a game review? Some of the art was very pretty although not overly detailed, with most CGs not having any background work.I didn’t find any of them particularly erotic, and of course some were quite horrible, but the main aim of them wasn’t to titillate. Saya was brought into this world via the experiments of Dr. Masahiko Ogai, a Japanese doctor working for the Tokyo University Hospital system. Fuminori, now realizing Saya is beyond saving committs suicide by continually bashing his face into his own axe, before finally falling limp.
