They put on a remarkable variety of jazz and related acts, including innovative and experimental groups (for whom the Vortex provides one of the few platforms in London), as well as more accessible bands and joyful world-music influenced acts. The Vortex offers one of the most diverse lineups of any jazz club in London, ranging from traditional, commercial, contemporary jazz acts to blues and rock as well as avant-garde. Even the small membership charge helps us in terms of regularly keeping the club going. A separate facility downstairs offers cheap eats.
