There were only three of us and the staff wait service was not great.

Upon receiving my bill a 20% gratuity was already tacked on. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Barley Swine last night. The course consists of roughly 9 bite-sized courses that lasts roughly 2.5 hours. You can however upgrade to enjoy the whole tasting menu. I made a reservation through RESY. I needed to use capital letters to convey my enthusiasm for this place because I am obsessed.

I brought in a small group to experience the tasting menu.

Among the four of us, the bill was just over $100 (not including tip) and we left stuffed - definitely not what I was expecting for a place rated $$$ on yelp!

The Barley Swine sign is kinda small compares to the other stores next to it so I actually drove past it the first time. The quail was out of this world delicious, bursting with flavor, served moist and beautifully presented. The food is fantastic. Share. The tasting menu was good but not great. I moved to SF about four years ago and haven't been back throughout those years. It was our very first date and we go back at least on our anniversary. It is definitely a restaurant to visit when you want to celebrate a special occasion or jut to splurge on yourself (because you deserve it). The parking is horrible and the food some dishes you could do without. Our reservation was for 7:45 but we heard there was happy hour so we were able to sit outside and order a bottle of red wine for half the price!

I won't exaggerate and say every dish was perfect, but of the savory dishes, 4 were out of this world and 2 were really good.Get here now.

We are confident our staff is providing excellent service to all guests and taking extra measures to keep everyone safe.

The craft cocktails are always delightful ... the bartenders are talented.
