There are small grooves at the writing end of the pen that help with grip but honestly I would rather have a rubber grip like you see on Pilot's "Easytouch" line of pens. So happy amazon carries a 12 pen box and for slightly less than I used to pirchase at grand & toy. My absolute favorite for everyday writing. I love all of them.
